Identifying community members who are Built to Serve?
Good school systems begin with good school boards. And the quality of a school board depends, to a considerable extent, on the interest taken by citizens. Just like municipalities, community service agencies, and other worthwhile nonprofit institutions, public schools depend on effective citizen leaders for their success.

School board members and public education advocates are invited to join this webinar. We will discuss ways to recruit strong candidates in order to advance excellence in
public education and equity for each and every student through effective leadership
by the collective action of locally elected boards of education.

Intended Outcomes:  At the conclusion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
1.    Describe the characteristics and traits associated with many individuals that serve as school board members
2.    Assess how well the current board reflects the demographics of the student population
3.    Identify ways to encourage and support school board candidates who will work to advocate for and advance public education
