Registration for the 81st Annual CASB Convention: Resilient, Ready, Relentless for Colorado Students and Broadmoor Hotel opens for priority districts on Monday, July 19. Districts that did not receive first priority access to the Broadmoor Hotel rooms via the lottery process in 2019 and have indicated an interest in the hotel reservation process will have the first opportunity to register and access rooms prior to the regular registration process that will open the week of August 2.

- The Convention call for presentations is open through July 30! Don’t miss out on your opportunity to share with your peers.
- Registration is also open for the Fall Delegate Assembly Conference that will take place in-person in Fort Collins on Oct 22-23. The Delegate Assembly provides an opportunity for every CASB member board to have their voice heard on important issues of the day. The resolutions approved by the CASB Delegates help to form the CASB’s advocacy efforts at the local, state, and federal levels.
- The CASB Convention will be Dec 2-4 at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs.
ADVOCACY
- Delegate Assembly - the call for resolutions is now open and the deadline for submission this year is Friday, August 30th. There is a guidance document that provides additional information on the process.
- 2021 Legislative Summary is now available for CASB members — it provides an overview of the actions impacting K-12 education during the last legislative session. This summary discusses what did and did not happen during the session; presents key issues and priorities; provides a bill summary for key legislation; and, sets the stage for the November 2021 election.
- Message from U.S. Secretary of Education encouraging your LEAs and schools to participate in recurring surveys to better understand the pandemic’s impact on students and educators.
POLICY AND LEGAL
- The 2021 Election resources are available to CASB members on our website.
- The 2021 School Election Seminars were held on June 16; the recordings and presentation materials are available on our website.
- The June 30 Special Policy Update addresses remote learning (policy IC/ICA update and board resolution) and more. Member login is required to access this important resource.
- Our Member Legal Resource, Administering Medical Marijuana and CBD in Schools FAQ, has been updated in light of the passage of SB21-056.
NSBA UPDATES
- NSBA is seeking submissions for the 2022 Annual Conference in San Diego (April 2 - April 4, 2022), from school districts for high-quality, breakout sessions that focus on topics of critical interest to school board members and administrators from all across the country. The deadline to submit your proposal is Friday, July 30 at 11:59 PM EST.

- Elementary and Secondary Schools Emergency Relief (ESSER) Fund Community Stakeholder Survey needs your input! The survey is available in English or Spanish.
