CASB believes that quality public education is the foundation for our nation’s economic prosperity, community’s quality of life, and every child’s opportunity to live their best life. The following are current events and opportunities for our members:

PROFESSIONAL LEARNING

ADVOCACY

  • Access the new CASB website page — 2021 November Election Information — to access the Blue Book and two sample CASB Resolutions to oppose Proposition #119 and Proposition #120. Learn more before ballots are mailed between Oct 8 and Oct 15.

    CASB Board Seats are now open — the qualifications necessary to serve on the CASB Board are to be a board member of good standing on a Region 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, or Large District local school board that is a member of CASB, and to have the enthusiasm and time to serve on the CASB Board. We must receive your information no later than 4:00 p.m. on 10/28 to be considered.
  • CHSAA Legislative Council Seats are also open and the candidate deadline is Thursday, October 28, at 4:00 p.m. Learn more on the CASB website.
  • CASB 2021 Proposed Resolution Book is now available for member boards.
  • All CASB members received their own district’s “Tell Your Story — Money Matters” ESSER document. Learn more about the campaign and reach out to [email protected] if you have questions.

    Two School Bus Rebate programs are now open for districts to help replace older diesel buses. Learn more on our website.
  • Early Childhood Listening Tour (Monday, October 11, to Friday, October 15) Colorado is creating a new unified state department to oversee early childhood care and education, including the state’s voter-approved universal preschool program.  Sessions will be held in Edwards, Grand Junction, Montrose, Durango, Pueblo, Alamosa, Fort Morgan, Denver and Fort Collins.   • Building a Better Colorado (BBCO) will be hosting conversations in 37 communities this fall. Be sure to engage!
