Recent news stories on the possibility of a special session being called for the Colorado General Assembly:
The application for the 2020 Colorado Teacher of the Year is now available. Each year, the Colorado Teacher of the Year Program honors an exceptionally dedicated, knowledgeable and skilled teacher in any state-approved or accredited school, kindergarten through grade 12, who is planning to continue in an active teaching status, to represent the entire profession in Colorado.
Applications for this honor are due Wednesday, July 10. Access the application, requirements and additional information on the program webpage.
The Colorado Association of School Boards was established in 1940 to provide a structure through which school board members could unite in their efforts to promote the interests and welfare of Colorado’s 178 school districts.
CASB represents and advocates for more than 1,000 school board members and superintendents statewide to groups both within and outside the K-12 education community. CASB provides services, information, and training programs to support school board members as they govern their local districts. Membership benefits and solutions are designed to enhance school board effectiveness and help board members increase their knowledge, boost their efficiency, and connect with their communities.

SB 19 199, enacted in May of 2019, makes several changes to the implementation of the (READ Act) by school districts, charter schools, and boards of cooperative services that operate schools (local education providers).
