From Tension to Trust: Essential Skills for Today's Board Chair

Serving as a school board chair is both an honor and a challenge. Strong boards—and strong districts—depend on leaders who can guide tough conversations, manage complex dynamics, and keep the focus where it belongs: on students.

In partnership with CASB, join PEBC’s Director of the FORWARD Initiative, Dr. Katy Anthes, and Sr. Director of Client and System Services Dana Sorensen for a multi-part workshop series designed to help board chairs strengthen facilitation skills, navigate conflict, and lead with confidence in polarized times. Build your toolkit—and your network—for leading productive, student-centered governance.

Series Schedule:
  • Part 1 – Intro Session: December 11, 2025 | (Afternoon at CASB Annual Convention at the Broadmoor Hotel, Colorado Springs)
90-minute breakout session introducing key concepts. (Didn’t attend CASB? No problem—Katy will host a 1-hour virtual catch-up for anyone who missed it.)
  • Part 2 – In-Person Workshop: January 16, 2026 | 1:00–4:00 p.m. | CASB Offices, Denver
A deep-dive session to practice facilitation skills and apply strategies with fellow board chairs.
