Fleming is a small town with a big heart and strong community support and pride. We have a population of 404 and are strongly tied to agriculture and ranching, which serves as the lifeblood of the community. The Frenchman School District is located in Logan County, approximately 2.5 hours from Denver and 30 minutes from Sterling on the Northeastern plains and encompasses 328.96 square miles. We are a diverse community with a lot to offer the outdoor enthusiast. Frenchman School District RE-3 serves 190 students Prek-12th grade. The Fleming district is consistently among the top-achieving school districts in Colorado for test scores, graduation rates, and student achievement. We show consistent growth and traditionally score above state averages. Our school also provides options for gifted and talented students as well as advanced and college-level courses through Northeastern Junior College in Sterling.

Qualifications: understands Colorado laws pertaining to public education, instruction, and school finance; outstanding listening and communication skills; ability to successfully build strong relationships with staff, parents, community members and the board of education through trust and mutual respect; a strong leader with the ability to plan and implement a common vision; values staff and community input; focus on administrative decisions based on educating the whole student; can make tough decisions and follow through with them; ability to inspire others to achieve a common strategic vision; knowledge of current K-12 educational trends and Colorado initiatives; and maintains high visibility in schools and community

Salary: The Board of Education is offering a salary range of $80,000-$90,000 with comprehensive benefits. Date of employment: July 1, 2014.

Cripple Creek is a beautiful mountain community located 45 miles southwest of Colorado Springs behind Pikes Peak, with breath-taking views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The weather is moderate, snowfall is minimal and school is rarely canceled due to weather conditions. The 334 students of Cripple Creek-Victor School District RE-1 benefit from a highly dedicated and caring staff of 41 teachers, three administrators and 39 classified staff. The district is proud of its wide variety of opportunities for students including the arts, college credits offered at the high school level, and support for special education students.

Qualifications: willingness to actively participate in school activities and in the operation of the school day; excellent communication skills with the ability to create a common vision and sense of unity; strong finance and budgeting skills with knowledge of Colorado laws and financial practices; knowledge and functional skills in curriculum oversight, instruction and student assessments; the ability to successfully build strong relationships with staff, parents, community members and the board of education through trust and mutual respect; passion for creating a high-performing district and high performance leadership team; integrity, transparency, open-mindedness and high regard for the input of others; previous experience in K-12 curriculum development, implementation and instruction; and passion to strengthen the school district by building community outreach with local businesses and community members. Required: willingness to commit to a long-term relationship with Cripple Creek-Victor School District and to reside within the boundaries of the school district; and evidence of a Master’s degree or higher in an education related field and a Professional Principal license with a preferred Professional/Education license.

Salary: The board of education is offering a salary range of $ 85,000-$92,000 based on experience. Full family health, dental and vision benefits are also offered. Date of employment: July 1, 2014.

Huerfano County is located in south central Colorado, east of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and is home to the communities of Walsenburg, LaVeta and Gardner. Economic factors of the county include the Spanish Peaks Regional Health & Colorado State Veterans Nursing Home, Huerfano County School District Re-1 and many small family businesses. Agriculture is still a mainstay with ranching as its foundation. Huerfano School District Re-1 serves Walsenburg and Gardner and is home to 503 students. There are 87 total staff members. Items of district pride/highlights about the school district are: Peakview School – new facility opened its doors for the 2005/2006 school year; Gardner school is a rural-community school, whose foundation is experiential-student centered learning, offering choice within the district; our district accreditation is at Improvement status; our graduation rate is 82%; 100% of the teachers and para-professionals are “Highly Qualified” under NCLB; advanced Placement and college credit courses are offered; and recent realignment district-wide curriculum.

Salary
: The Board of Education is offering a minimum salary of $93,000 with a comprehensive benefits package. Date of employment: July 1, 2014.
