Good school systems begin with good school boards. And the quality of a school board depends, to a considerable extent, on the interest taken by citizens. Just like municipalities, community service agencies, and other worthwhile nonprofit institutions, public schools depend on effective citizen leaders for their success.

Individuals who would like to learn more about what it means to serve on your local school board are invited to join this webinar. We will explain what a school board does, the characteristics or traits important for school board service, and more.

    1.    Describe the role of a school board member in regard to what they do for their district

    2.    Identify the characteristics and traits associated with many individuals that serve as school board members

    3.    Assess how well the current board reflects the demographics of the student population
