CASB Board of Directors Nomination Timeline and Procedures

Electronic submissions in Word format should be submitted to CASB President Monica Furey Peloso in care of [email protected]. 

All nominees, both incumbents and non-incumbents, must follow the same nomination procedures. If elected to the CASB Board of Directors, candidates will commit to our Board of Directors equity work. All nominations must include:

A. A one-page letter of intent from the candidate. Letter of intent may not exceed 300 words and must:

• Identify the board seat to which he or she is seeking election
• Describe why he or she wants to serve on the board of directors
• Describe why he or she is well-qualified to serve on the CASB Board of Directors

B. Two letters of recommendation. (No more than two letters will be accepted.)

• Letters should be limited to one page and generally address or describe the qualities that would make the candidate a valuable member of the CASB Board of Directors.
• The superintendent or other employee of the candidate’s school district may not submit a letter of recommendation.
• At least one recommendation must come from a person who has not served together with the candidate on his or her local board of education.

C. Answer the following two questions prepared by the CASB Board Leadership Committee. Answers to each question may not exceed 150 words. CASB reserves the right to edit entries for length.

• Describe your understanding of CASB’s role as a membership organization and how you see yourself becoming an effective contributor on the CASB Board of Directors?
• What should be CASB’s priorities for the next five to ten years?

A link to the candidates' profiles will be provided to the membership by Monday, November 23, 2020.

CASB Board of Directors Election
The Annual Business Meeting will be Thursday, December 3, 2020 during CASB's annual virtual convention. Each candidate will be asked to submit a two-minute video statement to the voting delegates.
