2021-22 READ Act Instructional Programming Review is open

The 2021-22 Instructional Programming Review process is open. This is when new providers can apply to be added to the READ Act Advisory List of Instructional Programming.

The READ Act requires CDE create an advisory list of evidence-based or scientifically based instructional programming in reading. The main purpose of the list is to provide districts and schools with a choice of instructional programming that enhances teacher quality and can help schools/districts improve their evidence-based literacy practices.

The review is a two-part process for vendors to submit instructional programs: core, supplemental and intervention to be reviewed for inclusion on the Colorado Department of Education READ Act Advisory List. Part I - Letter of Intent to Apply opened Oct. 18 and will close Friday, Nov. 5.

Visit the 2021-22 READ Act Instructional Programming Review Process webpage for more information.

News & Notes

Colorado Application Days through Thursday

Colorado Free Application Days is ongoing through Thursday, Oct. 21. All public and some private institutions will waive application fees on those days. Last year, Colorado institutions received nearly 57,000 admissions applications on Colorado Free Application Day.

Students must submit a completed admissions application in that time period. Any admissions applications that have been started but not submitted may not be granted a waiver. Any other admission documents that are not part of the actual application that institutions may require (for example, high school transcripts, letters of recommendation, etc.) can be submitted before or after Thursday, Oct. 21.

Each institution will have their own processes to waive the admissions application submission fee. Visit the Colorado Free Application Days webpage to find specific information by institution.
