CASB believes that quality public education is the foundation for our nation’s economic prosperity, community’s quality of life, and every child’s opportunity to live their best life. The following are current events and opportunities for our members:

PROFESSIONAL LEARNING

  • CASB, in partnership with the Colorado Secretary of State's Office, will provide school election seminars on Wednesday, June 16 (use this flyer to help promote):
    • School election seminar (Part I) from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.
      Provides an overview of the School Director Election process — including the roles and responsibilities for boards, designated election officials (DEOs), and county clerks and recorders, candidate eligibility, the petition process, and more. This webinar is open to all but is designed mainly for DEOs and potential candidates. Register here
    • School elections seminar (Part II) from 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
      Provides an overview of campaign finance — including committees, disclosure reports and filing requirements, contributions, and more. This webinar is open to all but is designed mainly for potential school board candidates. Register here

  • Registration is also open for the Fall Delegate Assembly Conference that will take place in-person in Fort Collins on Oct 22-23. The Delegate Assembly provides an opportunity for every CASB member board to have their voice heard on important issues of the day. The resolutions approved by the CASB Delegates help to form the CASB’s advocacy efforts at the local, state, and federal levels.
  • The CASB Convention will be Dec 2-4 at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs. The call for presentations is open through July 30.
  • The Starting School Stronger event on June 14 has been cancelled at this time due to low registration numbers.

  • Time to honor a fellow board member with the McGuffey Award! Deadline is 8/16/21.
  • Federal education officials highlight a host of pandemic-induced inequities in a lengthy report touching on everything from learning loss to mental health consequences.
  • Department of Early Childhood Transition Planning needs your input. Learn more on our website and complete an online interest form by June 21.
