Early Learning Needs Assessment Office Hours
 


The Early Learning Needs assesment office will provide an opportunity to ask questions and discuss actions steps to completing an early learning needs assessment during office hours from 11 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 10.

 Elementary school leaders in schools operating under a priority improvement or turnaround plan; district leaders who support these schools; and preschool district leadership are welcome to attend.

Application window for 2021-22 Principal Leadership Institute closes Friday, Aug. 27
 

Colorado principals are invited to apply for the 2021-22 Principal Leadership Institute by Friday, Aug 27. This leadership series will focus on distributive leadership and improving school climate and culture. Principal participants will work virtually alongside exemplary principals using a coaching model, participate in monthly seminars and leadership sessions. Quality Teacher Recruitment Program RFA available
 

Applications are sought for the Quality Teacher Recruitment program, which is intended to support efforts to recruit, select, train, and retain highly qualified teachers to teach in Colorado public schools. Funding is available for providers to partner with one or more school districts, BOCES, or charter schools over a two-year period to place and support licensed teachers in areas of the state that demonstrate historic difficulty in recruiting and retaining licensed teachers. A third-party evaluator will also be selected to evaluate these efforts.

Join BrainSTEPS CO
 

Increase your Administrative Units capacity to meet the needs of students and join the many other BrainSTEPS Teams around the state. BrainSTEPS CO - Brain Injury Consulting Teams serve over 70% of all students in our state.

 BrainSTEPS Teams assist students with all severities of brain injuries including concussion in their district/BOCES and benefit everyone. 

All training, materials, coaching/consultation, and support will be provided at no cost to districts.

2022 U.S. Senate Youth Scholarship Program Application Now Available
 

The U.S. Senate Youth Program is an educational opportunity for two student leaders from each state to participate in an intensive week-long education and leadership program. The 60th Annual United States Senate Youth Program will be held online March 5-12. Each delegate will be awarded a $10,000 college scholarship for undergraduate studies, with encouragement to pursue coursework in history and political science.

High school juniors or seniors are eligible to apply for this opportunity and must show demonstrated leadership by serving in elected or appointed positions in which they are actively representing a constituency in organizations related to student government, education, public affairs, and community service.

Applications are due on Friday, Oct. 8

It is estimated that in the US, over 2 million concussions occur each year in children under the age of 18. School personnel can take an active role in supporting all students who are impacted by taking CDE’s free online Return to Learn Concussion Management Team training.
