Correction to the CLSD Grant Program Budget and AFR template

Correction to the Colorado Comprehensive Literacy State Development (CLSD) Grant Program Budget and  Annual Financial Report (AFR) template. CDE has updated the Budget and AFR template for the CLSD Grant XLS. The original template did not have a dropdown menu option for salaries and benefits. Districts that plan to allocate funds to staff salaries in lieu of a literacy consultant must use this updated template as well as an explanation in the project narrative that demonstrates this staff person has the expertise and capacity to support CLSD project activities. Please see the CLSD FAQ document for further information.

Please visit the CLSD grant webpage for more information.

News & Notes

New unified state Department of Early Childhood

Building on its longstanding commitment to serving children and families, Colorado is creating a new unified state Department of Early Childhood, effective July 1, 2022.

The Early Childhood Leadership Commission (ECLC) is tasked with approving a plan to transition to the new agency, as well as to guide the state’s new universal preschool program.

Please see the Department of Early Childhood July Newsletter, which includes an announcement of the Transition Advisory Group members, information on the Subgroups - including the members selected for the Special Education Service Delivery Subgroup - and updates on how you can get involved. All of the groups begin meeting next week, and there will be engagement opportunities throughout the summer and fall.

If you would like to receive further communications on the Department of Early Childhood Transition Plan and Universal Preschool Program Recommendations, sign up on the Early Childhood website. Be sure to indicate which topic areas you would like to receive information and updates.

Find all of the information on the process, including meeting times, agendas and additional information, on the new Early Childhood website.
