CASB Board of Directors Election Timeline and Procedures

The CASB Board of Directors has openings for the following regions: 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 13

The qualifications necessary to serve on the CASB Board are to be a board member of good standing in Region 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 13, and to have the enthusiasm and time to serve on the CASB Board. For your convenience, here is a list of districts by CASB region. 

Electronic submissions in Word format should be submitted to CASB President Lindley McCrary in care of tkrcil@casb.org.

The application deadline is Friday, October 31, 2025 (4:00 p.m.). (Newly elected candidates have until November 15th to submit their application.)

Candidates elected to serve on the CASB Board of Directors are expected to attend the Annual Retreat, which will be held January 23-25. Dates for Quarterly Meetings and other important dates can be found here.

Candidates will be voted on at the Annual Business Meeting on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at CASB's Annual Convention held at The Broadmoor. Each candidate will be asked to submit a two-minute statement to the voting delegates at that time.

All nominations must include:

  1.  A one-page letter of intent from the candidate. Letter of intent may not exceed 300 words and must:
    • Identify the board seat to which he or she is seeking election
    • Describe why he or she wants to serve on the board of directors
    • Describe why he or she is well-qualified to serve on the CASB Board of Directors
  2. Two letters of recommendation. (No more than two letters will be accepted.)
    • Letters should be limited to one page and generally address or describe the qualities that would make the candidate a valuable member of the CASB Board of Directors.
    • The superintendent or other employee of the candidate’s school district may not submit a letter of recommendation.
    • At least one recommendation must come from a person who has not served together with the candidate on his or her local board of education.
  3. Answer the following two questions prepared by the CASB Board Leadership Committee. Answers to each question may not exceed 150 words. CASB reserves the right to edit entries for length.
    • Describe your understanding of CASB’s role as a membership organization and how you see yourself becoming an effective contributor on the CASB Board of Directors? (150-word limit)
    • Given CASB's priorities, please choose one and tell us how you would contribute to advancing this priority as a new CASB board member? (150-word limit)
