Running for your local board of education

School board elections occur every two years and are on the schedule again this year. Running for your local school board is a big decision, and CASB is here with resources to guide you in that decision and after a successful run. Below are resources to get you ready to make the decision about becoming a board member or to enhance your effectiveness on a current board. 2011 School Board Candidate Guide

This document will help you understand what you need to know about running for a seat on your local board. Also, visit the CASB 2011 Election Information page, a comprehensive source of information for candidates, board members and election officials, such as key dates, TABOR information and the Fair Campaign Practices Act. There is also a special section for veteran and departing board members.
